Tanner was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up moving frequently as his parents faithfully served in ministry. His mother led him to faith in Christ at the age of five, and from an early age, Tanner sensed a calling to pastor and serve others. In 2001, his family moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he attended Liberty Christian Academy and later earned his undergraduate degree from Liberty University. During his time at Liberty, Tanner met his wife, Olivia, while they were both working at Olive Garden. They were married in 2014 and are grateful parents to two children: a five-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter. Tanner and his family began attending Calvary Chapel Lynchburg in 2023. Since then, he has served in CCKids and the high school ministry before joining the staff in 2026. Tanner has a deep love for high school students and has served as a leader or pastor in student ministry since 2011.
Hobbies
Outside of ministry, Tanner enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing games, watching movies, and following football. He is also currently building a home for his family, which they hope to move into in the next few years.
