WHAT DOES SERVING LOOK LIKE AT CALVARY CHAPEL LYNCHBURG?

What a privilege it is to serve and bring honor to the Lord through our service to Him!

We view serving at CCL as worship to the Lord. Romans 12:1 says, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.” Serving is something we get to do out of a grateful heart of worship to the Lord. So, as you serve, we want your service to be part of your worship to the Lord.

WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO GET STARTED?

1. Complete the Connection Class

This class is mandatory, two-week class that will help prepare you to serve with us. We cover the churches vision, core values, mission statement, and other key aspects of ministry philosophy during this time. This class is offered every month on the 2nd & 3rd Sunday of the month (excluding December).

2. Be Willing To Serve In An Area of Need

Our desire as a church is to meet the urgent need as Paul exhorted Titus to do (Titus 3:14). When you first serve we ask that you serve in an area of need for six months. Typically, we have a couple of areas of need to choose between. Once you have served six months, we will work with you to serve in another area if you prefer.

3. Getting Started

When you are ready to start serving, simply visit our Welcome Center between 10-10:30am or 11:30am-12:00pm on Serving Sunday (typically the 2nd Sunday of the month). On Serving Sundays, we will have multiple ministries represented to meet with you and share immeditate ministry needs and help you get plugged into serving here at the church!
