Jamie grew up in upstate New York. When he was 19 he came to Liberty University and in the fall of 1995 he came to the Lord after hearing David Rings testimony of the faithfulness of the Lord in his life. For a few years his relationship with the Lord had its ups and downs but in 2001 he came to calvary chapel lynchburg with his now wife Paula and this is when he became much more serious about his spiritual walk.
The Lord kept moving on his heart, he looked for opportunities to minister around the church and later in the regional jail. He also began serving more and more on missions trips which led eventually to his calling to full time ministry in 2012. At the end of 2013 he and his family moved to Costa Rica to plant a calvary chapel in the city of Liberia. They spent eight and a half years there ministering, and when the calling was complete they came back to Lynchburg Virginia.
In May of 2022 they arrived and Jamie came on staff at Calvary as one of the assistant pastors.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Acts 20:24-But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
I have always loved this verse as it speaks so clearly of living for the Lord no matter the cost. It shows the life completely surrendered to the Lord finishes the race with joy. How wonderful to depart this word with joy to enter into eternity with joy unspeakable in the presence of Jesus.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love learning new recipes and cooking with my wife. We love doing things outdoors as a family. I also love doing Brazilian Jiujitsu with my kids (Isabel and Noah), we have been training together for about 7 years. Also love surfing and pretty much anything that has to do with the ocean.
