April grew up in a farming community in small town Ohio. She moved to Forest, VA in 1997 following a mission’s trip across America by bicycle. God called her to the area to help with that mission organization for a short time. After meeting her husband, Ted, on the trip in 1999 and marrying in 2000, they decided to make the Lynchburg area their home. They discovered Calvary Chapel in January of 2001, when there were about 50 church members, and have witnessed its abundant growth. They have raised two daughters, who also attend Calvary and serve in the CCKids ministry. April was blessed to come on staff in May of 2021.
Favorite Bible Verse:
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
April loves the outdoors, especially the mountains and the beach. Favorites activities include hiking, cycling, organizing, napping, cooking and spending time with her husband and daughters.
